Hong Kong Stock Exchange Holiday Schedule for 2024
Official Holidays
The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) will be closed for the following 15 public holidays in 2024:
- January 1: New Year's Day
- January 22: Lunar New Year's Day
- January 23: Lunar New Year's Second Day
- April 5: Ching Ming Festival
- April 7: Good Friday
- April 8: Easter Monday
- May 1: Labour Day
- May 27: Buddha's Birthday
- June 12: Dragon Boat Festival
- July 1: Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Establishment Day
- September 27: Mid-Autumn Festival
- October 1: National Day
- October 2: Chung Yeung Festival
- December 25: Christmas Day
- December 26: Boxing Day
Irregular Schedules
The HKEX will also have three irregular schedules or half-days in 2024:
- March 29: Good Friday
- April 14: Qing Ming Festival
- May 27: Buddha's Birthday
Orders and order cancellations can be accepted by HKEX on these irregular schedules but will not be processed by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) until after SSE's trading day ends.
